Heineken Balaton Sound FAQ

TICKETS

How much do the tickets cost?

Day tickets purchased in advance until midnight 15th April cost €45, from 16th of April until 30th of June cost €50, from 1th July and on the site cost €55.
The Opening Day / Ákos tour 2012 ticket costs 30€ in advance and on the site as well.
The price of a pre-purchased four-day festival pass is €110 midnight 15th April, from 16th of April until 30th of June cost 125€, from 1th July and on the site cost €135.
The price of a pre-purchased four-day festival pass + opening day/Ákos tour 2012 is €125 midnight 15th April, from 16th of April until 30th of June cost 140€, from 1th July and on the site cost €150.
The price of VIP Day ticket is €105 and VIP Festival pass is €250.

The Heineken Balaton Sound camping registration costs €6 per person paid as a one-off fee regardless of how many days you camp.
You can also buy a combined ticket that is valid for both the VOLT Festival and Heineken Balaton Sound, wich in advance until 15th April cost 170€, from 16th of April until 15th of June cost 190€, from 16th June and on the site of VOLT Festival cost 210€.
Children under the age of 10 accompanied by adult guardians do not require tickets.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at the discount price until midnight 15th April, and from 16th April until 30th June (or at ticket offices until closing time).
Due to the huge anticipated interest, we highly recommend you to buy your ticket with plenty of time to spare. During the last few days that the discounted tickets are on sale, you might encounter long queues at most ticket offices and certain tickets are likely to run out. Please note that purchased tickets are non-refundable.

Where can I buy tickets?

You can find the complete list of ticket outlets in advance on the "Where can I buy tickets?" menu. If you have a bankcard, you can also order tickets online here .

How long are tickets valid for?

Day tickets are valid from 8am on the given day until 8am the following day. Even if you arrive after midnight, you will still receive the day ticket for the previous day as there are still plenty of things going on until the morning. Day tickets for the given day go on sale after 6am. The opening day tickets are valid from 14:00 pm, 11th July to 8:00 am, 12th July. Start of the concert: 8:00 pm, 11th July. The Festival Pass is valid from day 1, starting from 8:00 am until the end of the Event. The Festival Pass is not valid for the Opening day / Ákos tour 2012, but you can upgrade your pass by paying 15€ extra on the festival site to enter.
The opening day program can be visited with VIP Festival Pass as well.

Can I buy tickets on the spot during the festival?

Yes, ticket booths at the entrance of the festival site are open 24 hours daily. Please note that tickets might run out as the capacity of the festival is limited, depending on the number of visitors.

Can I pay by card for the ticket on the site?

Yes, you can pay by card at designated ticket booths on the festival site.

 

What does the VIP-ticket entitle its holder?

This ticket is replaced by a wristband at the "VIP/PASS" container, not at the checkout.
With your VIP-wristband, you may use the VIP-entrance and enter the VIP-zone where you get the chance to enjoy gigs on the Main Stage from the grandstand, moreover you receive a 2011-festival T-shirt and you are also our guest for a drink every day! Have fun! The VIP tickets are valid also for the Opening Day / Ákos tour 2012.

 Do children need tickets, too?

Children under the age of 10 accompanied by an adult guardian do not require tickets.

What can I do if I leave my ticket at home?

If you leave the voucher that you purchased through the official website at home, you can turn to the staff in the "Problem Cassa", located at the entrance, who will try to identify your purchase through our online system. Unfortunately, if you didn’t buy your ticket online, or via other websites, we will not be able to solve your problem, and you will have to go home for it.

Can I return my ticket?

Please note that tickets are non-refundable.

GENERAL INFORMATION

When does the festival start?

Gates open at 6pm on 11th July. Camping facilities are available from the same time.

When does the festival end?

The Heineken Balaton Sound ends on the morning of 16th July. The site should be vacated by 10am.

How can I receive information?

You can send your questions by email to the info@balatonsound.hu address.

Can I take photos at the festival?

There are no restrictions regarding non-professional photography, but to be entitled to take photos of live acts and other events you will require written permission from the organisers. Representatives of the media who wish to take such photos can approach the staff of the press office at the Heineken Balaton Sound Press Centre to ask for permission.

Are there disabled facilities at the festival?

Yes, we provide specially adapted toilets for disabled people, who can also visit the VIP section of the festival.

Where can I find the first aid facility?

It is indicated on the map. If you can’t find it, ask the security guards or our staff at the information desk. We would like to ask you to take care of yourselves and each other. We recommend you to refresh yourselves with lots of alcohol-free drinks, apply suntan lotion to yourselves liberally and wear caps. In case you feel unwell, please approach the medical staff.

Who can I ask in case I need help?

You can get help from the Heineken Balaton Sound security service or from our staff members at the information desk.

What should I do if I lose or find something?

We collect lost property at the information desk, so if you find something please place it there. You can also try to find your missing items there. Lost property items will be kept until 31st July. There are left luggage lockers on the site of the festival, which we recommend you to use as we do not take responsibility for luggage items left anywhere else.

What about catering at the festival?

This year Heineken Balaton Sound will cater to all tastes. There will be a Mexican restaurant serving burritos and other South American delicacies, a Heineken restaurant, pizza, grilled dishes, pancakes, jacket potatoes, Churros, New York hot-dogs, deep fried dough, corn on the cob, popcorn, bakery items, falafel, panini, and a greengrocer’s stall for vegetarians with freshly squeezed fruit juice. Beside the wide range of fish dishes, hake, and frutti di mare, frogs’ legs and snails are on offer, too. Sandwich Guru and Tercia Óriásmenza will also again be present. Furthermore, 14 wine bars, sausage stands and 30 pubs will serve the guests.

Is it permitted to light fires on the festival site?

No, it is strictly prohibited!

WHAT CAN I NOT TAKE IN...?

What am I not allowed to take into the festival site?

Alcoholic drinks, glass objects, plastic bottles larger than 2.5 litres, food in commercial quantities, drugs, knives with blades longer than 8 cm, chains longer than 50 cm, explosive and flammable substances (like gas-cylinders), weapons, sharp-edged and pointed objects, hammers and umbrellas all have to be left at the entrance. You cannot bring in more than 2 packs of cigarettes.

Can I bring in a dog?

Yes, if you have the dog’s inoculation certificates with you, as well as a leash and a muzzle. Ask for a band at the entrance on to which you can write your contact details in case the dog should go astray. However, due to the big crowd and noise we do not recommend you to take your dog.

IS THERE...?

...an ATM? Can I pay by card at the festival?

Yes, you can find an ATM at the centre of the festival site. Unfortunately, you cannot pay by card at the commercial units, stalls and catering outlets on the site of the festival.

...a left luggage and bicycle shed facility?

Yes, they are marked on the map. The fee is Ft 200 per luggage item or bike.

...internet access?

You will find the worldwide web in the Internet truck on the site of the festival.

...a phone box?

A phone box that takes coins is located opposite the entrance of the festival.

...vegetarian food?

Vegetarians can choose from a wide variety of food this year as Heineken Balaton Sound will cater to all tastes. You can find Mexican and South American delicacies, pizzas, grill dishes, pancakes, jacket potatoes, Churros, deep fried dough, corn on the cob, popcorn, bakery items, falafel, panini, and a greengrocer’s stall for vegetarians with freshly squeezed fruits juices.

ACCOMODATION

How can I book accommodation?

At the time of the festival accommodation in Zamárdi and surrounding areas fills up quickly, therefore we recommend that you book your accommodation in good time. To help you find the most suitable accommodation and to book it, you can turn to our partner agency. You can find further information on the Accommodation menu.

How can I camp on the festival site?

If you wish to stay in a tent on the festival site, firstly you should buy a camping registration. Buying the ticket guarantees that you will be able to pitch your tent on the campsite. You can only enter the Heineken Balaton Sound campsite with a camping registration and a valid Heineken Balaton Sound wristband. The camping registration costs a one-off fee of €7 regardless of the number of days you want to camp.

What are the hygienic conditions, i.e. showers, toilets, hot water, etc., like?

There are three places (mobile container units) on the campsite for showering where men and women bathe separately. We kindly ask you to look after the showers and only use them for the necessary amount of time so that other people can have enough time to wash themselves, too. You can find both so-called bio toilets (mobile toilets) and container toilets on the site, which are regularly cleaned and checked, but we ask you to keep them clean, too.

Can I rent a tent?

Unfortunately, there is no tent rental facility on the site.

TRAVEL, TRANSPORT, PARKING

What is the exact location of the festival?

In Zamárdi which is situated 8 km from Siófok. You will find the site of the festival on that part of the free beach that lies closer to Szántód, between Harcsa utca and Zöldfa utca. The website and the map will help you find it.

How can I get to the festival?

You can find detailed information to this question in the Travel menu.

How can I get to the festival by car?

As the distance between Budapest and Zamárdi is only 110 km, you can reach the festival in about an hour travelling on the M7 motorway. You should get off the motorway after Siófok then drive along the old 7 road and turn right after the railway station, which is the easiest way to get to the festival. The site of the festival is located between Kecskeméti utca and Harcsa utca, on the free beach.

How can I get to the festival by train?

From Budapest, intercity and fast trains leave for Zamárdi from Keleti Pályaudvar (Keleti Railway Station and Déli Pályaudvar (Déli Railway Station). The journey time is between 2 and 3 hours depending on the particular train taken. Details here.

How can I get to the festival by coach?

Coaches leave from Budapest Népliget Coach Terminal. The journey time is between 2 and 3 hours depending on the particular coach taken. Details here.

How can I get to the festival from Siófok?

Buses between Siófok and Zamárdi run between 10am and 7pm.

How can I get to the festival from the northern side of Balaton?

Those who arrive to the festival from the northern side of Balaton should take the ferry from Tihany to Szántód. 

How can I get to the festival by bike?

There is a cycling lane that goes around Balaton, so you might as well come on two wheels. A bicycle shed is available at the festival.

Can I drive into the festival grounds with a caravan?

If you arrive by caravan, you will be able to park it in the parking lot in front of the festival. The parking area has a limited capacity, so send an e-mail to the organisers in advance to info@balatonsound.hu .

Can I take my motorbike into the festival grounds?

Unfortunately not. You will have to leave you motorbike in the parking lot.

Where can I park, is there a secure car park?

We ask you to use the designated parking lot of the festival, which you can find next to Szent István út which is about five minutes walk from the festival. It is marked on the map. We cannot take responsibility for your belongings left in the car, but there is CCTV in the parking area.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

 - A sound and film recording will be made of the event. Everyone who appears in the recordings can be named only with their agreement. However they may not make any claims against the makers of the recordings or the organizers of the festival.
- Film and sound recordings can only be made with the written agreement of the organizers.
- On the grounds of Heineken Balaton Sound it is forbidden to carry out any commercial or advertising activities without the written permission of the organizers.
- The organizers take no responsibility for accidents that occur in the area of the Heineken Balaton Sound Festival.
- Under 18s cannot be served with tobacco, while underage and intoxicated people cannot be served alcohol.
- We draw your attention to the prevailing laws which declare that the consumption, possession and sale of narcotics is forbidden in the area of Heineken Balaton Sound!
- Visitors are kindly asked to take care of the environment and to not drop any litter.
- Naturally, you are allowed to bathe in Lake Balaton, but due to the shallow water it is dangerous and forbidden to dive or jump into the water.
- The event will take place in the case of bad weather as well.
- The right to make changes in the program is reserved.
- Visitors are asked to take care of themselves and one another.
