Icelandic diva looking for sun

The first confirmed headliner of the 2012 Heineken Balaton Sound is maybe the most mysterious pop-diva of all times. Now it’s official, Björk will be melting hearts at the summer’s coolest beach party, held between 12-15 July at lake Balaton, Hungary.

After 4 years of silence she released her new album, Biophilia in October 2011. More of an artistic project than a traditional music recording, as Björk was composing many tracks on an iPad and while doing so, she also created applications to the songs. The album features some self-developed instruments, which also guarantee a truly special experience of sound and vision at the 2012 Heineken Balaton Sound.
Being the most important cultural ambassador of the small Northern island, Björk is all in one: an alternative pop star, a movie actress and a fashion icon. It’s pretty hard to compare her voice and ultra-dramatic songs to anything else out there. Millions love her, she got 12 Grammy nominations, 4 BRIT Awards and the same number of MTV VMA’s, while she also earned the Polar Music Prize from the Swedish Royal Academy of Music.
