Sziget Festival is renown all around the world for its perfect island venue on river Danube. Besides this, you just can’t miss the chance to discover Budapest. Now you have the best creature to help you!

While we are working hard fighting the flood, the Sziget Festival Official has reached 200.000 fans! Thank you! We celebrated this with a chestnut-cherry cake, but this is your achievement, so you can also take part in the celebration!

A 65-meter ferris wheel peeks out in Budapest at Erzsébet Square, thanks to the cooperation of Sziget Cultural Management and the local government of the 5th district. The monumental structure will stand in the heart of the city for 6 weeks and awaits the visitors from 7th June. Afterwards it will move to Sziget Festival.

As you may have heard already from the news, the countries by the River Danube are in a constant fight with the river. These days the Sziget crew is also working hard to protect the territory of the ‘Island of Freedom’ from the flood and we’re confident of winning this battle.

All tickets are sold for Sziget Festival’s Alternativa Camping. This is the place where upgraded services are combined with Italian hospitality, so fans of the “Dolce Vita” feeling needed to act quickly to reserve their places also this year.

Sziget Festival, ‘The Island of Freedom’, is preparing a memorable Day 0 program for the arriving inhabitants. This time Sziget will become a „wonderland”, where the most well-known alternative rock band from Hungary, Quimby, will create a once in a lifetime atmosphere on the Main Stage with a special concert dreamt for Sziget only. Meanwhile the OTP Bank World Music Party Main Stage will host Muzsikás, an internationally well-known Hungarian folk band, who are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year with their guests and international stars.

Recently several bands and artists have accepted visas to the Island of Freedom. Arriving straight to the Main Stage with their latest release are the legendary Nick Cave and his Bad Seeds, as well as the most popular alternative rock band of the 2000’s, Franz Ferdinand.

Poet, writer, provocateur, rockstar. Nick Cave is all of these though not necessarily in this order. Whatever he does is important, even if he is not doing anything, whether it’s complete silence or a full volume sonic explosion.

Furious and unstoppable indie rock’n’roll, really gritty and crazy dirty pop anthems that make any pit explode. This is the trademark of the always stylish Franz Ferdinand from Glasgow that made them one of the most popular British bands of the 2000’s and got them countless musical awards.
