The official payment device of Sziget Festivals in 2013 is the MasterCard® PayPass™ and Maestro® PayPass™ card, and all other PayPass-devices.
OTP Maestro PayPass Festivacard
The bank of Sziget Festivals OTP Bank issues unique festival-designed OTP Maestro® PayPass™ Festivalcards with your name, linked to your bank account. So you do not yet have an OTP Maestro PayPass Festivalcard? You should definitely get one, as you get to enter the festival without having to wait.
MasterCard PayPass or Maestro PayPass card
Of course, you can use all MasterCard PayPass or Maestro PayPass cards or any other PayPass-devices (watch, sticker, minicard) at all Sziget-events.
Metapay Festivalcard
Besides MasterCard PayPass and Maestro PayPass cards, you can also use the chargable Metapay Festivalcards available at the venue.
What is a PayPass™ card?
PayPass™ is a contactless payment feature that provides cardholders with a simpler way to pay. MasterCard® PayPass™ or Maestro® PayPass™ is a special card with a built-in radio-transmitter, and you can make your purchases just by touching the reader terminal with it. The PayPass™-system is developed by MasterCard®, and is available nearly all over the world. All you have to do is touch the terminal, and then it makes a tweeting sound to let you know your payment was successful.
To what extent are PayPass™ cards secure?
PayPass™-payments are not only fast, but also secure as the card remains in your hands all the way through. You can make your payments at any place with a reading terminal, and under 5000 HUF it only requires one touch, over 5000 HUF you need to enter your PIN-code.
Where can I use my contactless MasterCard PayPass or Maestro PayPass bank cards, devices?
Of course, you can pay by your MasterCard PayPass and Maestro PayPass-card at several stores, as the number of places suitable for this type of payment keeps growing all over the country and all over the world. Right now, most of these stores are in Budapest and Pécs.
What does the „payment limit of wave-and-go contactless cards” mean?
There is a payment limit on single transactions, and contactless cards can only be used under a certain sum of money before customers are asked for their PIN. In Hungary, the limit is 5000 HUF. If you are willing to pay more than that, you need to enter your four-digit PIN-code.
What happens if I want to purchase a more expensive product or service?
You can use your MasterCard PayPass or Maestro PayPass cards for contactless payment over 5000 HUF too, but in that case you need to enter your four-digit PIN-code.
Do I need a PIN-code?
You only need to enter your four-digit PIN-code if your payment is over 5000 HUF, and if you are not using your card in a PayPass manner (for example when using the ATM).
Can I change my payment limit?
Payment limits are country-typical, meaning that you do not need to enter your four-digit PIN-code when paying, thus you cannot modify this limit.
Do I get a bank voucher when using my MasterCard PayPass or Maestro PayPass cards?
Automatically, only the merchant receives a voucher, but you can ask the cashier to give you a voucher of your payment.
In order to reach the PayPass-function, do I need to sign up for a new bank card?
Yes, the PayPass-function is only available with bank cards equipped with MasterCard PayPass or Maestro PayPass antennas.
What distance is needed for MasterCard PayPass or Maestro PayPass-cards to get in touch with the terminal?
MasterCard PayPass or Maestro PayPass cards can get in touch with the terminal from 4-6 centimters.
What can I do if I lose my MasterCard PayPass or Maestro PayPass device?
Should you lose your MasterCard PayPass or Maestro PayPass card or device, you need to block it immediately at the customer service of your bank!
Can I use my MasterCard PayPass or Maestro PayPass bank card in foreign countries?
Yes, PayPass-technology is already used in 37 countries of the world, and more than 350 000 places are suitable for this type of payment all over the world. .
In what ways are OTP Maestro ® PayPass™ Festivalcards different from Metapay Festivalcards?
OTP Maestro® PayPass™ Festivalcards – similarly to Metapay Festivalcards – can be carried from one event to the other, and can be used at all all our events. However, the important thing is that since PayPass cards are proper bankcards, you can make all the purchases with the money on your bankaccount, and you do not need to mess around with a prepaid card-system at any of the festivals. What is more, your purchases are not limited to festivals, but you can pay by your card at any domestic and international Maestro® and Maestro® PayPass™ reading terminals. In 2013, merchants, pubs, and restaurants linked to Sziget accept Metapay Festivalcards and PayPass™-cards issued by any bank, so you can buy any product or service with these cards at any Sziget events.
