Great new names in the VOLT line-up

Living legends and nr 1. acts are waiting for fans deciding to visit the 20th edition of VOLT Festival in Sopron, Hungary, between 27 and 30 June 2012. Besides Skrillex – already confirmed at the end of last year – now there’s a new list of announced names, including Snow Patrol, Iggy & the Stooges, Lostprophets, Children of Bodom, Hadouken! and Katy B.

For the last two decades VOLT has always tried to be different compared to other festivals in Hungary and the region. We always aimed at giving a little more than just the usual festival adventures to our guests, so we were happy to realize that each year more and more of them fell in love with our event. Now our fanbase has some clear expectations, they need legendary acts and also some of the freshest names from the charts. We think our line-up will once again meet these expectations.” – said Norbert Lobenwein, the festival’s main organizer

Snow Patrol

For several months it’s almost impossible to turn on a radio without bumping into Snow Patrol’s hit, Called Out in the Dark. The UK band that already successfully toured with U2 and Coldplay also received a Q Award in 2011 and goes on tour this year to present their new album, released last November. VOLT is surely the right place to meet them at the end of June

Iggy & the Stooges

You won’t find another band with a similar impact on the 70s punk rock scene, as the Stooges. Iggy Pop is one of the most charismatic rock heroes, an indestructible icon with an energy level that could easily blow up the whole set. No need to worry, Iggy & the Stooges will only use their superpowers to make you party like crazy.

Lostprophets

Lostprophets is always a top choice for metal heads from all around the world. They arrived in the beginning of the 2000s with the nu-metal wave, but during their career of over a decade they touched many different genres, including hard rock, post-hardcore, post-grunge and even indie. Their new record is set to come out in April, so VOLT fans will surely get a full taste of it.

Katy B

According to prophecies from the most influential UK music magazines, 2012 will be the year of Katy B. The hottest invention of the dubstep scene knows what she wants and not just in practical terms, as she even got a degree in pop music at Goldsmith University. Mixing dubstep with modern funk and R&B tunes, while using her unique singing and performing skills is Katy B’s specialty, so VOLT fans, be prepared to fall in love with her.

Hadouken!

Hadouken! is a well known and quality brand in the world of new-wave and electronica, and one of the most popular acts among the youngest fans of the scene. They surely have a lot of momentum to transmit and the VOLT audience will get to feel all of this.

Children of Bodom

If you’re a metalhead, but more into the Scandinavian style, then we also have some great news for you. Children of Bodom, one of the most energetic bands of the metal world is also confirmed for VOLT. See you in the moshpit!
